Baby with 6 legs

A baby with six legs was born in Sindh province of Pakistan on April 12. The incident, however, came to light recently when the doctor briefed the media that the separation of limbs was a hard nut to crack.

The doctor, after assessing the baby, has said that it was very risky to operate upon the kid and remove the limbs. The doctors have also said that the entire process needs medical exercise.

The baby boy was shifted to National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi.  The infant has a parasitic twin, said the director of NICH, Jamal Raza. Addressing the media, Raza has said that the baby was doing good. He has been admitted to the intensive care unit.

Raza has said that it was no cake walk for doctors to handle this issue as there’s so much to look into proper functioning internal organs besides performing series of cosmetic surgeries.

Also, even if the surgery will be performed, the chances of his well-being will be low and the entire process would be costly, the doctor said.

This baby was born to Imran Ali Sheikh (31) and Afshan (27) who were married five years back and this baby is their first child. Imran works as an X-Ray technician and cannot shell out so much money for the medical needs of the baby. The couple, however, pleaded the doctors to save their baby. (Phani)
